As you read this, there is a good chance that I am in the air on my way to Portland, Oregon for the World Domination Summit. I am very excited for this trip and look forward to watching Anderson Silva beat loud-mouth Chael Sonnen at UFC 148 as I sit in Mr. Sonnen’s backyard.
I am also excited for the release of my new book, “Fat Loss For Beginners”. It is available in Kindle format on Amazon.com for just $2.99. But you can get it for FREE for two days (Thursday July 5 and Friday July 6, 2012).
The book includes edited versions (edited to make them better, not necessarily make them shorter) of some of my blog posts and also new material. The complete table of contents follows with links to any pertinent posts:
The Beginner’s Guide To Fat Loss.
Food Is The Key To Fat Loss.
7 Day Meal Plan With Grocery List.
Ultimate Guide To Simple Cooking For Fat Loss.
How To Add Flavor To Your Fat Loss Meals (Guest post at BecomeaBeast.com).
Fat Loss Training Program For Beginners.
Fresh Off The Couch Training Program.
Basic Beginner Training Program.
Intermediate Beginner Training Program.
Final Thoughts And Tips.
The book is short but covers the basics of diet and exercise for anyone just getting started on their fat loss quest. If you do pick it up, whether for free or for $2.99, it would mean the world to me if you posted your honest review on Amazon.com. Seriously, those reviews are important and my sincere appreciation goes out to everyone who takes the time to write one. Let me know if you have any questions about the book in the comments.
Stay strong,
Vic
P.S. Here is the link to the “Fat Loss For Beginners” book again: click here. Remember it is free on July 5th and 6th. Thanks!
I've been helping people lose weight and get fit since 2001. To learn more about my simple approach to health and fitness

Vic,
I have now read the book through three or four times. I am really going to give this a go, as I need to get my health and fitness under control. I have a concern on the sample meal plans though. If I add up a days worth of calories, its looking at around roughly 800 per day. Is that truely enough? I am 5’10″ and sitting at 330 lbs.
Looking forward to your response,
Mike
Hi Mike,
Try to liberate yourself from counting calories. At your starting point, simply focus on keeping your diet focused on meat, vegetables, and small amounts of fruit and nuts. Simply eliminating the grain based foods (bread, pasta, cereal, etc.) will go a long way towards your weight loss success.
So yes, you may need to eat more than the book indicates. But that simply means you might want to increase the portion sizes of meats and nuts a bit. And you’re always encouraged to eat vegetables (especially green vegetables like spinach, broccoli, and kale) with reckless abandon.
Keeping a food journal is the best advice I can give. If you keep a record of your food intake, you will slowly learn what works for your body specifically.
Take care,
Vic
Vic,
Thanks for the quick response. I will have to get past the calories thing. So ingrained in the mindset of one that has tried to lose weight for most of his life. I did go ahead with the meal planning in your book. Sticking to sample menu now and will be tweaking things as I go and get more secure in eating towards a paleo lifestyle. Lifestyle is the key in my mind now of having to stick to it. MAKE IT A HABIT, not a diet.
I am starting slow. Started Tuesday to be exact. Will be adding the workouts next week. I will start with the Fresh Off the Couch section.
One question I have in regards to that workout is an alternative to the Hips Down Body Row, as I currently don’t have a way to do that at home or equip anywhere else for now.
Again my thanks,
Mike
You might want to try this. But be careful and make sure the table is VERY sturdy: http://youtu.be/OYUxXMGVuuU
