I’m damned near notorious for saying that achieving your fitness goals is simple. And by simple I mean there are no complicated formulas or bevy of moving parts. I can tell you how to get in shape in just 4 steps: eat real food in appropriate quantity, train in a manner that is continually challenging, allow for adequate recovery, and repeat with consistency. That’s it. Simple. But simple does not mean easy. . .
So why isn’t it “easy”? What makes getting fit so damned “hard”? Well I’ll give you hint. . . It’s not diet, training, or recovery.
The hard part is repeating the diet, training, and recovery with consistency. The hard part is changing your habits.
Will power alone will not get you to change your habits. Scheduling your meals and workout sessions in your calendar complete with pop-up reminders will not change your habits. And getting “motivated” and “trying your best” damned sure isn’t going to change your habits.
